Mike Price B.Mus (Berklee) M.Mus (ANU)
Mike is an Australian jazz guitarist and music educator. He resided in the USA during the 1980’s and studied at Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory. In lessons, lectures and workshops he learnt from many noted musicians including Mick Goodrick, John Abercrombie, George Russell, Gary Burton, Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Dave Holland.
Upon returning to Australia Mike commenced lecturing at the Canberra School of Music (later part of ANU). He lectured in jazz guitar, harmony, improvisation and research techniques. He was also Head of Jazz Studies at ANU for fifteen years. Mike has performed with many great musicians in Australia including James Morrison, Vince Jones, Miroslav Bukovsky, Bernie McGann, James Greening and Daryl Pratt.
