Luke Warren is a Sydney based electronic music producer, sound designer and educator. Withover 10 years experience composing electronic music and crafting bespoke sounds, Luke’s music
sits somewhere in the deeper spectrum of house and techno with occasional forays into
melodically driven ambient soundscapes. Drawing influence from a wide variety of sources, his
music is inspired heavily by contemporary classical composers like Nils Frahm and Olafur Arnalds,
as well as dub techno pioneers and innovators like Basic Channel and Deepchord. At present most
of Luke’s creative output is focussed on his Microlot alias where he explores the deeper, melodic
realms of house and techno. Writing, producing and performing music with Ableton Live. He also
works as a sound designer supplying exclusive content for Native Instruments sounds.com
platform.
As an educator Luke has taught a range of subjects and skill levels from Short courses in Australia
and abroad, most notably in Taipei City, Taiwan, to Diploma' and Advanced Diploma level in the
VET sector via Sydney Tafe Ultimo, and Bachelor level at the Australian Institue of Music where he
was a casual academic for a number of years. He has also provided specialised sound design
courses focussing on sampling and synthesis techniques for post-grad students at the Australia
Film, Television and Radio School. Luke has completed post-graduate study in Higher Education
Learning and Teaching and relishes the opportunity to get into the class room and share his
knowledge and creative insight. Inspiring students with his novel approaches to workflow, music
making process, creative practice and sound shaping.
