Kids at the Con School Holiday Workshops (5-6yrs) run for 3 hours and are designed to provide extended activities for the slightly older age group. In this fun and engaging workshop children will develop musical skills and learning through games and creative activities using singing, movement, active listening and playing tuned and untuned percussion instruments.
Learn a tune on a xylophone, play rhythms on a drum and experiment with tone colours and sounds to enhance story telling. Experience active listening and move to a variety of music.
Parents/guardians are welcome to drop off their children at the commencement of the class and return 15-minutes before the end of the class for a ‘mini performance’ of the children’s activities from the workshop.
There will be one short break and participants must bring their own food. Food and drink are not permitted to be consumed inside the classroom but will be consumed outside the classroom.
The workshop will be taken by tutor Irene Stone.
Material presented is similar to that of the weekly Yellow and Green classes.
Please note that each workshop is designed as a one-off session, and material will be repeated in following classes.
The Kids at the Con holiday workshops are designed to help children between the ages of 3 and 10 engage with the exciting world of music. Structured workshops are presented in a challenging but non-competitive environment which encourages the development of artistic expression and creativity.
