Fees
Rising Stars program
In 2025, the fees for the Rising Stars Premier and Emerging programs are $3,800.00 (incl. GST) per semester (2 semesters per year). This includes:
- 14 – 1 hour instrumental lessons,
- 14 – 50 minute Music Skills classes,
- rehearsal workshops and concert performances.
Rising Stars Foundation program
In 2025, the fee for the Rising Stars Foundation program is $3,365.00 (incl. GST) per semester (2 semesters per year). This includes:
- 14 – 1 hour instrumental lessons,
- 14 – 50 minute Music Skills classes,
- Gala concert performance at the end of each semester.
Electives
In 2025, the fee for the Chamber Music Elective and Composition Elective is $755.00 (incl. GST) per semester. This includes 10 one-hour tutorials.
Additional Benefits
Rising Stars students are able to use the Conservatorium many practice rooms for private practice. Students are also able to join the Conservatorium Library and access the thousands of scores and recordings. They also are able to access free or discounted tickets to Sydney Conservatorium of Music concerts.
Scholarships and Bursaries
A very limited number of Scholarships and Bursaries are available.
Scholarships
General Scholarships are awarded based on merit i.e. the highest performing students based on the exam results. Only existing students are assessed for Scholarships and no application is required. Auditioning students may be considered for encouragement awards.
The Rising Stars program also offers a Scholarship program for students wishing to learn organ. This program is open to piano students as well as students already learning organ. For information on Richard and Doreen Wilson Rising Stars Organ Scholarships please click here
Bursaries
A limited number of Full Bursaries are available from support provided by the Patricia H. Reid Endowment Trust. A number of smaller bursaries are also available for the Rising Stars program.
All Bursaries are means tested based on family income and are designed to assist families who might not otherwise be able to afford the program. They are also awarded for one year (subject to satisfactory performance). Once students are informed of their acceptance to the program, parents are required to apply for a bursary using the application form.
