Jazz Ensembles - Audition

These classes are designed for students who wish to develop confident improvisation, aural and sight reading skills. They provide an ensemble-based environment for the development of personal jazz skills, along with an understanding of the dynamics at work in a small performance group. JAZZ ENSEMBLES COMMENCE ON THE FOLLOWING DATES:

Monday 29 July – 6.30-8.30pm (tutor – Andrew Dickeson)
Tuesday 30 July- 6-8pm (tutor – Ron Philpott)
Wednesday 31 July- 6-8pm (tutor – Hannah James)
Thursday 11 August – 6-8pm (tutor – Ron Philpott)

The fee for the 8 week term is $495. If you enrol for an audition by 8 July, you will only pay the Early Bird rate of $435.60 for the term (12% discount), providing you are successful at audition. If you are a full time student or hold a current pension/healthcare card you are eligible for a 15% discount. Call the office for more info.

Entry requirements: Ability to read music*. Some previous vocal tuition. All students are required to present a song in front of the class in Week 1 accompanied by Alan. Please come with a song prepared and 2 copies of the vocal score (piano and vocal parts together in one score), one for the pianist and one for you either taped together, bound or in a display folder. Performance from memory is encouraged but not required.
