THIS IS A FACE-TO-FACE AUDITION
Notification of your specific 10-minute audition time will be sent the week prior to the audition date
Once you have passed your audition you will be emailed a link to enrol in the term class. The fee for the 8-week term will be $520. If you enrol for an audition by 12 January, you will only pay the Early Bird rate of $457.60 for the term (12% discount), providing you are successful at audition. If you are a full-time student or hold a current pension/healthcare card, you are eligible for a 15% discount.

This course is designed for singers who wish to develop more confident solo performance.
It would be particularly suitable for students currently studying music for their HSC and adults preparing for performance, exam or audition.
Audition requirements
- Auditions are scheduled about two weeks prior to the start of the course
- All students are required to present a song
- Students will be accompanied by Alan Hicks
- Notification of your specific 10-minute audition time will be sent the week prior to the audition date
- This is a face-to-face audition
Please prepare
- one song
- either email a PDF of the music or bring a copy of the vocal score taped together, bound or in a display folder
- performance from memory is encouraged but not required
About the course
Classical Song will explore the techniques, skills, and style needed to sing the breadth of classical repertoire from Art Song to Opera.
The course will cover:
- vocal and stylistic interpretation
- working with an accompanist
- language and diction
- connecting with your audience
- performing with confidence
- a concert in the final week
Singers should feel able to give a solo performance in front of the class in a friendly, supportive environment each week.
Course requirements
- It is recommended that singers have three or four songs to work on during the course
- PDF copies of the music will need to be emailed in advance
- Both tutors are happy to advise on the choice of material

Christina and Alan both have a wealth of knowledge and experience as teachers, and I feel the personalized feedback given in each class as well as the general advice helped me to take my singing to the next level. Christina gave me extremely valuable tips on how to present myself on stage for solo performances such as those I do for Eisteddfods and Auditions whilst Alan really assisted me greatly in keeping to time and pronouncing words and phrases in English but more importantly in Italian and other foreign languages. Both Christina and Alan gave excellent tips on how to prepare for performances and ensure that nerves did not overtake and ruin our performances.
