Enhance your playing by learning how the language of Jazz was developed.

Join drummer, bandleader & educator Andrew Dickeson for a “hands-on” journey through the history of Jazz. The classes this term will focus on the evolution of Jazz music – in particular Swing, Bebop, Hard-Bop and more. With a practical focus on listening and watching the great artists of this music, and group discussion, as well as providing plenty of resources should you want to “dig deeper”, this course is sure to enhance and enrich the playing of musicians of any level.

Entry Requirements: Students should have a basic understanding of music notation, time signatures and key signatures and chord symbols.
