This workshop is for 6-10 year olds.

This brand new workshop is being launched in January 2017. It will run for 5 hours each day, from 9am to 2pm. Activities include pitch and rhythm work using tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments, active listening activities, and the opportunity to make your own instrument. Parents/guardians are welcome to drop off their children in the morning, and return at 1pm for a ‘mini performance’ of the children’s activities from the workshop.

There will be two short breaks for morning tea and lunch (participants must bring their own food). Food and drink are not permitted to be consumed inside the classroom. There is a cafe in the building but children may not visit it without their parent/guardian. The workshop will be taken by tutor Irene Stone. Material presented is similar to that of the weekly Green and Blue classes.

Please note that each workshop is designed as a one-off session, and material will be repeated the following day.

The Kids at the Con holiday workshops are designed to help children between the ages of 3 and 10 engage with the exciting world of music. Structured workshops are presented in a challenging but non-competitive environment which encourages the development of artistic expression and creativity.
