Rising Stars Audition - Brass

Audition requirements for Brass players

Applications are now closed for entry into Rising Stars at the Con program for Semester 1, 2021.

Instruments welcome to apply are: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba, Euphonium.

Applications are invited from students who have been playing their instrument for at least two years and are over the age of 6.

Students are required to play:
1. Two contrasting pieces of your choice, not longer than 10 minutes together. Showing a range of technical and musical skill. One study and one piece are recommended.

No piano accompaniment, scales, sight-reading or general knowledge is required. Applicants will be allocated an audition time within the time range indicated and notified of this at a later date.

Music Skills Diagnostic Test online 2020:
In addition to the instrumental audition, all successful applicants will be required to sit a Music Skills Diagnostic Test, which will be held online via Zoom. Attendance at this test is compulsory for all successful applicants. The test is used to determine which level of Music Skills classes the student should commence in. The result of this test have no impact on whether or not the student is offered a place.

Music Skills Test Date:
Wednesday 2nd December, 5pm-6.30pm online.
