Rising Stars Audition - Brass

Audition requirements for Brass players

Auditions for the 2023 program will be held on Friday 4th November 2022 in the afternoon. Please join the waiting list to be notified when auditions are opened.

Instruments welcome to apply are: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba, Euphonium.

Eligibility:
Applications are invited from students who have been playing their instrument for at least two years and are over the age of 6.

Students are required to play:
1. Two contrasting pieces of your choice, not longer than 10 minutes together. Candidates are encouraged to choose substantive repertoire from renowned composers where possible.

No piano accompaniment, scales, sight-reading, or general knowledge is required. Applications close 5pm Monday 24th October. Applicants will be allocated an audition time after this date once audition numbers are known. Music Skills Diagnostic Assessment:
In addition to the instrumental audition, all successful applicants will be required to sit a Music Skills Diagnostic Assessment. Attendance at this assessment is compulsory for all successful applicants. The assessment is used to determine the appropriate level of Music Skills class for each student. The result of this assessment has no impact on whether or not the student is offered a place.
