Making Music in Ableton Live

This short course is primarily aimed at newcomers to Ableton Live and is designed to get you up to speed and making music in Live as quickly as possible, building your skills, knowledge and ability to create music in a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation – In this case Ableton Live) over the 8 weeks.

During the course, music making and production techniques that are applicable to a variety of genres/styles will be covered, allowing students to focus on their preferred genre(s) and begin honing their own musical style.

Taught by Luke Warren, producer and accredited AbletonLive trainer) you will have the very best of guides through this software and how to use it to transform your songwriting from its concept to produced work.

A copy of Ableton Live is strongly recommended so you can complete the exercises and practice regularly outside of class. By the end of this course you should have composed and produced one short song/piece in a genre of your choosing.

This course is for those who:

  • Have never used LIVE
  • recently started (Less than 6 months)
  • dabbled in Live sporadically over an extended period time, but desire formal lessons
