Jennifer Yeh started learning the piano at the age of 3 and began her formal music education at Sydney Conservatorium High School. She was awarded several scholarships throughout her pre-tertiary years to major equally in piano and bassoon.
In 2001, she graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Performance). She has since toured and performed in many parts of the world including Russia, China, Spain, Italy and Argentina with the SBS Television and Radio Youth Orchestra, Sydney Conservatorium Chamber Orchestra, and the Musica Viva wind ensemble The Chambermaids.
Jennifer obtained a Master of Music (Performance) from New England Conservatory (NEC) in the United States and was the winner of the 2005 Mozart Concerto Competition at NEC.
Her principal teachers include John Cran (Principal Bassoon, Sydney Symphony), Gregg Henegar (Contrabassoon, Boston Symphony), Matthew Wilkie (Principal Bassoon, Sydney Symphony) and Noriko Shimada (Principal Contrabassoon, Sydney Symphony).
Jennifer continues to work as a freelance musician in Sydney, playing in orchestras and chamber ensembles. She has over 15 years of experience as an accompanist (for competitions, auditions, exams and the HSC), and is a highly regarded instrumental teacher in some of Sydney’s most prestigious schools including Abbotsleigh School, Cranbrook School, Methodist Ladies College (MLC) and Pymble Ladies College (PLC).
