Katherine holds a Bachelor of Music Performance, with first-class honours from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Katherine has taught the clarinet for over 10 years, during which she has taught students both clarinet and bass clarinet from years 2 through to year 12, as well as adult learners. Katherine’s students have achieved success in a range of areas, including HSC Encore nominations for both Music 2 and Extension as well as successful AMEB AMusA candidates. Katherine has also worked extensively with students who have differing learning needs, such as dyslexia, ADHD, and low numeracy and literacy levels.
Katherine has held principal positions with the Sydney Conservatorium Wind Symphony, Symphony Orchestra and Modern Music Ensemble, as well as touring internationally to the UK and China in 2019 as principal clarinet of the Sydney Youth Orchestra and bass clarinettist with the Sydney Conservatorium Modern Music Ensemble. Katherine debuted as an orchestral soloist with the Sydney Youth Orchestra in 2021. In addition, she is a regular member of the Modest Orchestra and has been a guest artist for the Orange Chamber Music Festival, and a guest performer with the Kanimbla Quartet (Katoomba) and Francaix Trio (Melbourne).
