Carter Jia has completed a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, under the tuitions of Clemens Leske and Jeanell Carrigan. He is also a Rising Stars Alumnus under the tuitions of Ying Ho, Daniel Herscovitch, and Clemens Leske. He had participated in numerous masterclasses with world-renowned pianists including Tamás Ungár, Sa Chen, Xiaohan Wang, Christian Müller and Graham Johnson OBE, and has achieved high standard results in the Piano Pedagogy units during the course of his BMus degree. Carter is currently studying with Belgium Pianist, Laurent Boullet, on the actions and mechanisms of the hands in piano playing.
His teaching principles include providing students with solid and long-lasting technical skills while guiding them through their own interpretation in musicality.
