Ngaire De Korte

Ngaire de Korte is a freelance oboist and teacher based in Sydney. She studied at the Victorian College of the Arts under Anne Gilby and Jeffrey Crellin and was awarded the VCA’s Keith and Elizabeth Murdoch travelling scholarship in 1996. She gained her Master’s Degree in Music from the Rotterdam Conservatorium in 2001, studying with Emmanuel Abbhul, during which time she performed as principal oboe in the UBS Verbier World Youth Orchestra.
She currently performs with Australia’s leading orchestras and ensembles including the Sydney Symphony, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and has held the position of oboe lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music from 2008 – 2016. She has been a teacher for the SCM Open Academy Rising Stars program for ten years.
