Julie Montague

Julie Montague has worked in music education for over thirty years. She taught secondary music for many years prior to working with Musica Viva in their Musica Viva In Schools programs. She then worked for the Board of Studies managing the development of the current HSC Music Syllabus documents; and the Curriculum Directorate where she was the Department of Education and Training Music Consultant and responsible for resource development and implementation strategies to support the teaching of Music K–12 in New South Wales government schools. During this period she was also the Supervisor of Marking for HSC Music (Practical), the Assistant Supervisor of Marking for HSC Music (Written Marking) and National President of the Australian Society for Music Education.
Julie returned to a school setting in 2006 to take up the position of Head Teacher Music at the Conservatorium High School. She is currently Head Teacher Partnerships at Sydney Distance Education High School.
