Pianist Hye-Lim Lee is an established musician who is highly sought after for her sensitive accompaniment skills. She began her musical training on the piano at the age of four, continuing her study at the Conservatorium High School and Sydney Conservatorium of Music under the tutelage of Daniel Herscovitch, Elizabeth Powell, and David Miller AM.
Hye-Lim attained her Bachelor of Music in 2006. During these years studying at the Conservatorium her interest in collaborative piano grew immensely which led her to taking the accompaniment major stream. She received the Mollie Neale Memorial scholarship and Horace Keats Memorial Scholarship in recognition for excellence in accompaniment.
Since the completion of her Master’s degree in 2008, she has been working as an Associate Artist for the Rising Stars program at the Sydney Conservatorium Open Academy. She has also worked with the Sydney Youth Orchestra, Sydney Children’s Choir and the Sydney Sinfonia.
Hye-Lim has performed with many young talents who have achieved success in various competitions including KPO Concerto Competition, Kendall National Violin Competition, and the ABC Young Performer’s Award. She has also performed as a guest artist with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra and has featured on the 2MBS-FM and ABC radio live broadcasts.
Outside her commitments with the Conservatorium of Music, she teaches piano at Barker College and at her private studio.
