Kids at the Con - Blue Class

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

For 7-10 year olds

The participants in this level bring a diversity of musical experiences to class as some have started learning a specific instrument, but others have not. All students share equally in experiencing and making music. In the Blue class, conventional and graphic notation are explored, and a range of rhythmic and pitch concepts are used, they make music through 3-4 part ensemble playing and part singing. Building on solfege (singing with letter names) of previous levels, more challenging ensemble and aural activities are presented using voice, keyboard percussion and untuned percussion. Many participants in this level have already begun individual instrumental lessons but this is not a prerequisite.

The Kids at the Con is designed to help children between the ages of 3 and 10 engage with the exciting world of music. Structured classes are presented in a challenging but non-competitive environment which encourages the development of artistic expression and creativity. For more general information, please go to the Kids at the Con page.
