Rising Stars Audition - Brass

Instruments welcome to apply are: Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba, Euphonium. Auditions for the 2025 program will be held on Friday 15th November 2023 from 4pm. These classes are designed for students who wish to develop confident improvisation, aural and sight reading skills. They provide an ensemble-based environment for the development of personal jazz skills, along with an understanding of the dynamics at work in a small performance group. This course is designed for musicians with no background in improvisation. You will need some basic level of understanding how to read music and chord charts. It provides students with an opportunity to learn elementary theoretical concepts, historical knowledge and basic skills in the art of jazz improvisation. These classes are designed to introduce the student to a broad range of classic Soul and Rhythm ’n’ Blues music styles.
