Jazz Ensembles - Audition

These classes are designed for students who wish to develop confident improvisation, aural and sight-reading skills. They provide an ensemble-based environment for the development of personal jazz skills, along with an understanding of the dynamics at work in a small performance group. Typically, there will be drums, electric bass, piano, horns (trumpet, alto, tenor) and guitar as the usual line-up. Rising Stars Audition - Woodwind

Instruments welcome to apply are: Flute/Piccolo, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Cor Anglais, Saxophone. All students must enrol in an audition to be considered to join the Rising Stars Program. Auditions are held at the end of each year, with applications opening in September for auditions held in late October. There are no mid-year auditions for entry into the Rising Stars program. How to apply All students must enrol in an audition to be considered to join the Rising Stars Program. Applications are invited from students who have been playing their instrument for at least 3 years and are over the age of 10. Backline and frontline instrumentalists are welcome to apply.
