Jazz Piano: First Steps Level 2

Students will be extending the knowledge and skills that they gained in the Jazz Piano 1st Steps level 1 course.  By studying classic jazz tunes from the Great American Songbook and by many of the jazz masters, students will develop a deeper understanding of jazz harmony as well as melodies and rhythms unique to the jazz idiom. These classes are designed for students who wish to develop confident improvisation, aural and sight-reading skills. They provide an ensemble-based environment for the development of personal jazz skills, along with an understanding of the dynamics at work in a small performance group. Contemporary Vocal Studio - Audition

A short audition will be conducted for this course.  You will need to enrol for the audition. Please prepare A verse and a chorus from 2 contrasting songs (e.g. a ballad and an up-tempo song) to be sung a cappella. Some vocal exercises will also be given on the day.
