Kids at the Con School Holiday Workshops - 6-10 year olds

Kids at the Con School Holiday Workshops (6-10yrs) run for 5 hours each day, from 9am to 2pm. Activities include pitch and rhythm work using tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments, active listening activities, and the opportunity to make your own instrument. Parents/guardians are welcome to drop off their children in the morning, and return at 1.45pm for a ‘mini performance’ of the children’s activities from the workshop. Contemporary Vocal Studio - Audition

A short audition will be conducted for this course You will need to enrol for the audition. Please prepare: a verse and a chorus from 2 contrasting songs (eg a ballad and an uptempo song) to be sung a cappella. There will also be some vocal exercises to be given on the day. Should you be successful, you will be emailed after the audition date with a link to enrol in the class itself. Soul Ensemble -Audition

These classes are designed to introduce the student to a broad range of classic Soul and Rhythm ’n’ Blues music styles. Jazz Piano: First Steps Level 2

Students will be extending the knowledge and skills that they gained in the level 1 course.  By studying classic jazz tunes from the Great American Songbook and by many of the jazz masters, students will develop a deeper understanding of jazz harmony as well as melodies and rhythms unique to the jazz idiom.
