Contemporary Vocal Studio ONLINE - audition

A short VIDEO RECORDED audition will be conducted for this course You will need to enrol for the audition. Please prepare: a verse and a chorus from 2 contrasting songs (eg a ballad and an uptempo song) to be sung a cappella. THIS AUDITION IS BY VIDEO SUBMISSION. Only videos submitted by an person enrolled in the audition will be considered. All audition videos must be submitted by 5pm Monday 27 September via a downloadable file shared with a link (preferably dropbox) and sent to con.openacademy@sydney.edu.au. Videos should clearly show the singer and must be a capella.

Kids at the Con - Green Class

For 6-7year olds In the Green class, children continue to experience the elements of music through singing, moving and playing. Conventional music notation is introduced including rhythm, bass and treble clef. Ensemble work broadens to 3–4 parts and aural training also reflects this with more difficult solfege and learning of songs in more than 1 part. 2. Auditions will take place between 4pm – 7pm on Tuesday 26th October.
3. An individual audition timeslot will be allocated to you. You will be notified of your timeslot by Friday 22nd October. If there is a specific time that you will not be available, please inform us immediately to aid with scheduling.
4. Students who are successful in auditioning for the Rising Stars program are required to participate in the Music Skills Diagnostic Test which will be held online using the application Zoom, on Wednesday 1st December, 5pm-6.30pm.

3.Successful applicants will then be invited to participate in the live auditions on Tuesday 9th November. An individual audition timeslot will be allocated to you. If there is a specific time that you will not be available, please inform us immediately to aid with scheduling. These auditions may take place in real time on Zoom, or may take place live at the Conservatorium, Covid-permitting. You will be notified in advance.
